Our story
Academic Math Review started with a shelf of half-used math books. Homeschooling our own children, we bought program after program chasing the perfect fit, learning the hard way that no curriculum is right for everyone. We began writing up what we learned about each one, and other parents found it more useful than any sales page.

Our mission is to give parents and teachers the honest, practical information they need to choose a math program with confidence — and to avoid costly mistakes.
Editorial standards
- Hands-on. We review programs we’ve used or studied in depth.
- Balanced. Every program has trade-offs, and we name them.
- Independent. No publisher can buy a better review.
How our content is reviewed
Reviews are drafted after real use, checked for accuracy against the program’s materials and relevant standards, and updated when new editions appear or readers share their experiences. Found something outdated? Tell us.
